In chapter 1 we are studying how different maps can give different impressions.

 

Above is a common map seen after the 2000 presidential election between Bush and Gore. In that election Gore got more votes, but Bush received four more votes in the electoral college and became president.

 

THE ELECTION WAS VERY CLOSE!!!! Is that the impression that you get from the map? What impression DO you get from the map? WHY? And finally, what could be done so that the map will give a more accurate impression?
