Welcome to GEG 101 ONLINE! - World Regional Geography.
I am your instructor, Mark Healy. Please call me Mark.
I have taught this online course for several semesters now and have made many changes. Like all web pages, they are not permanent and I expect to continue revising and refining the GEG 101 ONLINE! web pages. If you have suggestions that would improve the course please contact me either individually [mhealy@harper.cc.il.us] or on the Course Evaluation Forum. Become familiar with the course websites ( see sitemap.htm). The answers to most of your questions are probably in here.

Successful completion of the GEG 101 ONLINE! requires that you establish yourself a set of procedures that will help you make the most productive use of your time. Never forget that you are going to college. Establish a definite schedule so that you do not procrastinate.
College counselors recommend that for the average college class, students should study 2 hours a week outside of class for each semester credit. Since this is a 3 credit distance learning class, that means 3 hours of "class" per week AND 6 hours of studying. To assure that we do not get behind we will follow a weekly schedule (schedule.htm).
Many students drop out of distance learning courses because they simply postpone studying until it was too late (See the schedule for the last day to withdraw from course: schedule.htm ). Don't you be one of them.
