Total Utility (TU) and Marginal
Utility (MU)
Remember: the marginal is
the slope of the total. The slope of the TU curve is
getting smaller and smaller (less steep) as the quantity
consumed increases. At the same time MU is less and less.
At its peak the slope of the TU curve is zero and at this
quantity MU is zero (it crosses the X axis).
