Benson PHI 205 001, 002: Introduces the teachings, practices, social structures and histories of the religions of India (mainly Buddhism and Hinduism), and China and Japan (mainly Confucianism, Shinto and Taoism), and of the Middle East (mainly Christianity, Islam and Judaism). 205 001 MW 1:00-2:15 L218, 205 002 MW 3:45-5:00 L311

Maass PHI 205 004, 008: Examines the five major world religions with regard to doctrine, liturgical practices and sectarian varieties. Some emphasis will also be placed on North American Indian religion & the relatioships between the major religious models. 004 TR 9:25-10:40 L200, 008 A 9:00-11:40 L220

Peskind PHI 205 003, 009, 010: Introduces the teachings , practices, social structures & histories of the religions of India, China & Japan, & the Middle East. This is an academic study of religion, not a personal one. Picchi PHI 205 005, 006 065 (late start): A comparative study of the most prominent ideas of the world’s major religions; including Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, etc. We will also devote attention to the various cultural contexts in which the leading religious conceptions developed. 205 005 F 9:00-11:40 L218, 205 006 F 12:00-2:40 L216, 065 TR 2:30-4:10 L300
