Course Grading

There are a total of 200 points possible during the semester. What follows is a breakdown of the possible points for each assignment. After this breakdown is the scale of points for particular letter grades.

Possible Points Per Assignments

Seven Formal Projects: 110 pts. Project 1: Self-Description Report/Definition Exercise (6 pts.) Project 2: Memo Project: three memos, three points each (9 pts.) Project 3: Message that Assumes Cooperation (10 pts.) Project 4: Persuasive Letter Requesting Assistance (15 pts.) Project 5: Letter of Refusal (15 pts.) Project 6: Employment Project (25 pts.) Project 7: Analytical Business Writing Report (30 pts.) Seven Formal Project Drafts: 7 pts. One point per rough draft Seven Audience Profile Sheets: 14 pts. Two points per APS Twelve Online Participation Activities: 24 pts. Two points per activity Three Editing Exercises: 18 pts. Six points per exercise Two Quizzes on Course Material: 20 pts. Ten points per quiz Orientation Quiz: 4 pts.
