The two web sites listed below contain short self-assessment surveys designed to help you both assess your reasons for taking an online course and help you manage your expectations of online learning. The sites contain information about the reasons you might register for an online class and the different kinds of learning styles that online classes take advantage of. Please read the self-assessment questions carefully and answer them honestly. (You do not have to post the answer to the questions as part of your Orientation Exercise.)
The two sites also list general hardware requirements for online courses. The particular hardware requirements for English 103 Online at Harper are listed on the technical requirements page in the class web site. The technical requirements for your Harper course are modest and are common to most online courses.
